Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3 is designed to meet severe snow requirements and cold weather driving conditions. Moulded with Michelin's trademark Helio Compound, the tyre delivers high performance even in wet and slushy conditions. Endowed with an asymmetrical tread pattern, the tyre has 3D Variable Thickness Sipes (or VTS) which ensures traction on both snowy and dry conditions. The VTS technology has two kinds of sipes: wide sipes on the inside for snow traction and narrow sipes on the outside for handling in dry conditions. This offers 10% more control on snow, compared to Michelin's snow track predecessors. With many biting edge sipes, the tyre provides better acceleration, thereby satisfying high-speed drivers. The Helio compound reduces braking distances, improving overall winter performance of the tyre. On the inside, Pilot Alpin PA3 has twin steel belts that come with Michelin's BAZ technology and a polyester cord body to equip the tyre with high-speed capability and exceptional ride comfort.
Made for the winter terrain, this Michelin comes with the mountain/snowflake symbol. The broad shoulders and tread blocks ensure minimal wear and low road noise. Like most of the Michelins, Pilot Alpin PA3 meets the brand's Green X standard for low rolling resistance. Since rolling resistance has a direct influence on the mileage, a Green X standard tyre like Pilot Alpin contributes to minimized fuel consumption and thereby, reduced emission of greenhouse gases.
