Nexen N9000 sports a tread design that is unique and at the same time a bit out-of-the-ordinary. Three major ribs run in the longitudinal direction across the tread, flanked by 4 wide and straight channels for water evacuation. Water dispersal is made possible by the tyre's wide channels and the Z-shaped lateral grooves that drain into the shoulder. Wide shoulder design improves upgrade cornering stability, while the organic lateral grooves improve the tyre's aquaplaning resistance. The Z-shaped grooves also provide grip in rain and slush, making the tyre a competent contender among the others in this category.
